A recent study revealed that the top 10 most affordable US Gay Mecca’s for retirement include communities in North Carolina, New Mexico, Oregon and Florida. This survey was compiled in order to provide gay retirees a useful resource when contemplating a move for retirement. Some of the factors that were used to compile this list included the overall cost of personal living and the current cost of housing.

In the state of North Carolina, there is a very well designed community located in the town of Zionsville. Some of the amenities featured at this development include an on-site community clubhouse, nature trails, and the ability to live a carefree lifestyle.

In Oregon, there are several gay retirement communities located in the cities of Greshman and Portland. Most of these communities feature both fully furnished apartments and also a variety of guest accommodations.

For gay retirees who prefer not to live in a retirement community, there are several places across the country that offer gay friendly single home neighborhoods. Many of these neighborhoods are located in Georgia and Florida.
