Erie, PA’s Top LGBT Neighborhoods and Home Prices

Erie, Pennsylvania, as one would expect, sits on the shores of Lake Erie.  Erie has a population of just a little over 100,000 people, making it the fourth largest city in the state.  Its location of being near New York, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland makes it an idea commuter city, although Erie itself is home to a very large manufacturing industry.

If you’re a member of the LGBT community and are looking for a gay neighborhood in Erie, you’ll find it in Glenwood Heights.  This scenic area is something of a hidden gem.  It’s located near Presque Isle State Park, one of the biggest tourist attractions in the city.  The homes here are gorgeous Victorian houses, and they’re actually priced lower than many expect them to be.  While the neighborhood looks fairly traditional, there are three gay bars hidden away for those who like going out at night.

Single family homes in Glenwood Heights start out at around $65,000.  The most expensive can be found for around $200,000.  It really is a very inexpensive place to live.  There aren’t very many condos in this part of town, however.
