Claremont, California’s Top LGBT Neighborhoods and Home Prices

Claremont, California, is a small college town that is located east of Los Angeles.  It sits at the bottom of the San Gabriel Mountains, so there are plenty of beautiful vistas to be had.  In fact, it’s one of the areas near LA that people like to get away to just because there’s less smog.  Claremont has been listed on the top ten places to live in the U.S. by CNN and is often listed as the best place to live in the state.

Thanks to the five different universities in the city, Claremont is full of a wide variety of people from all walks of life.  That translates into a very open, friendly atmosphere.  There are several gay bars in the city, plus a few churches that are aimed specifically at LGBT people.  There’s no real gay district because there doesn’t need to be.  Everyone is welcome in Claremont.

Claremont isn’t what some would call cheap, though it is actually fairly affordable when come compared to many of the nearby neighborhoods of LA.  Condos start at $275,000 and range up to $775,000.  Single family homes can cost anywhere from $450,000 to $2.8 million dollars.
