Housing scorecard shows improved inventory levels, fragile prices
OtherHome prices and sales remained fragile in January even as housing inventory levels and foreclosure starts improved during the same month, the Obama administration said in its latest Housing Scorecard Report. Inventories of existing homes for sale declined from 3.2 million in the second quarter of 2011 to 2.4 million in the fourth quarter, according to data from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Treasury.
