  • Tucson: Situated on the edge of the beautiful Sonoran Desert, Tucson is the picture of southwestern beauty. It is the second-largest city in the state of Arizona and the oldest. Tucson is nicknamed the Optics City because of the many optics companies that are located there – but that’s only part of what makes Tucson unique. It also has a thriving visual and performing arts scene, a diverse and eclectic culinary culture, and a vibrant, diverse, multicultural heritage where all are welcomed and celebrated for what they can add to the city. It’s truly a sunny southwestern city with something for everyone. Read the full Tucson Gay City Guide here.
  • Mesa: Although located in the East Valley portion of the Phoenix metropolitan area, Mesa is a unique and vibrant city in its own right. With a population of over 500,000 people, Mesa is the largest suburban city by population in the United States, and it is the third-largest city in Arizona, behind only Phoenix and Tucson. Offering beautiful scenery, a stunning desert landscape, and a diverse, warm, and welcoming community, Mesa is a sunny southwestern city that would truly make a great place to call home. • Tempe: Tempe, Arizona, is home to more than 150,000 people.  This city is on the East Valley side of the Phoenix metro, which means that even though it’s not home to a huge number of people, residents can easily get to everything Phoenix offers.  The city is home to several businesses, including the headquarters of the American Airlines Group and Arizona State University.  According to residents, Tempe is one of the most gay-friendly cities in the country, and many who want to live in Arizona settle in the area, even if they commute to work in Phoenix or one of the other suburbs.  The city’s visitors bureau has been recognized multiple times for promoting the city as an LGBT vacation destination and a great city to live in.
