  • The Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender Community Center: Often simply called “The Center, this gathering spot and community center is intended to be a place where everyone is celebrated for who they are. The Center provides programs for health, wellness, and connection to the LGBTQ community across New York City.
  • About Youth at The Center: “About Youth” is the branch of New York’s LGBTQ Community Center dedicated to serving LGBTQ youth, friends, and allies in the greater New York area. The group is committed to serving every member of the LGBTQ youth and young adult community in the area as they seek to live fully in celebration of who they are and to feel supported and connected to the communities in which they live.
  • National LGBT Chamber of Commerce New York: The National LGBT Chamber of Commerce New York is an important and very involved part of the greater New York LGBTQ+ community. The group has the mission of promoting an environment in which LGBTQ+ businesses across the state owners can make valuable connections to their communities and grow their businesses at the same time.
  • Callen-Lorde Community Health Center: The Callen-Lorde Center offers a wide variety of health, lab, and pharmacy services to the LGBTQ community across the city, regardless of the ability to pay.
  • Housing Works: Housing Works is a group dedicated to providing a variety of services to the LGBTQ community across New York City, including medical and dental services, behavioral health, case management, housing resources, and supportive services in various locations in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Staten Island.

New York’s Best Neighborhoods

  • West Village: Greenwich Village is where it all started. Stonewall Inn is off 7th Avenue and Christopher Street, which sparked the LGBTQ movement more than 50 years ago. The LGBTQ Center also has its home on West 13th Street in the Village. West Village is a charming neighborhood full of historical row houses and cobblestone streets that make for the perfect stroll on a brilliant NY day.   • Hell’s Kitchen: Hell’s Kitchen is a neighborhood chock full of food fare. It also has a high concentration of same-sex couples and merges with the Theater District (home to Broadway).   • Chelsea: Chelsea has the highest density of same-sex couples in New York. 8th Avenue boasts a long line of gay-friendly businesses flying rainbow flags year-round.
