Where are the most “secure places” large or mid-size metro areas in the nation to live? The annual Farmers Insurance Group of Companies ranked nearly 400 communities based on safety and security in its eighth annual study on the “most secure places to live for 2011.”

The rankings take into account such factors as crime stats, natural disasters, housing depreciation, foreclosures, air quality, environmental hazards, life expectancy, and car accidents. If you live in an unsafe area, you can always get close protection services for additional security.
